How to Check Password Strength
Step-by-step guide to evaluating how secure a password is and learning how to improve it using the DevHexLab Password Strength tool.
Tool Used
Password Strength Checker
Open the Password Strength tool
Navigate to /tools/security/password-strength. The tool works entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to any server.
Type or paste your password
Enter the password you want to evaluate in the input field. The strength score and feedback update in real time with every character you add or remove.
Read the strength score
The tool rates the password on a scale from Very Weak to Very Strong. This score is based on length, character variety (uppercase, lowercase, numbers, symbols), and patterns that are easy to guess.
Review the feedback
Below the score you will find specific suggestions for improving the password. Common feedback includes: add more characters, avoid keyboard patterns like qwerty or 12345, avoid dictionary words, and mix in symbols or numbers.
Improve and re-check
Edit the password based on the suggestions and watch the score improve. Aim for Very Strong if the password protects anything important. When you are satisfied, copy the password and store it in a password manager.
All done!
You are ready to use Password Strength Checker like a pro.
