Introduction
ProjectVault is a local-first, read-only viewer for project-management export files. This policy applies to the ProjectVault browser extension and locally hosted web application published by DevHexLab.
Information ProjectVault processes
ProjectVault processes only CSV, JSON, and ZIP files that a user explicitly selects. These files may contain task names, descriptions, dates, assignees, comments, attachment links, custom fields, and other information supplied by the user or their organisation.
Processing and storage
Selected files are parsed on the user's device. Imported archives are stored in the browser's local IndexedDB database. ProjectVault does not transmit imported archive content to Baisil Geevarghese, DevHexLab, or a ProjectVault server.
Data use
ProjectVault does not sell, rent, share, profile, or use imported archive content for advertising. The current product does not include advertising, analytics, tracking SDKs, or behavioural telemetry.
Browser access
ProjectVault 2.5.0 requests no optional or privileged browser permissions. It does not read browsing history, inspect visited websites, or access files that the user has not explicitly selected. Selecting the extension toolbar icon opens ProjectVault's own bundled page.
Retention and deletion
An imported archive remains in the current browser profile until the user deletes it from ProjectVault, clears browser storage, removes the browser profile, or uninstalls the extension. Removing an archive from ProjectVault does not delete the original export file.
External links
An imported export may contain task or attachment links. ProjectVault opens a link only after the user selects it. The destination service operates under its own terms and privacy practices and may require authentication.
User responsibilities
Users must import only information they own or are authorised to process. Organisational exports may contain personal, confidential, regulated, copyrighted, or employment-related information. Users and their organisations remain responsible for lawful processing, access control, retention, and backup.
Security
ProjectVault is open-source software. Security vulnerabilities should be reported through the repository's private security-advisory process. Do not publish confidential data or real exports in a public issue.
Children
ProjectVault is a technical archive tool intended for professional and general audiences. DevHexLab does not knowingly collect personal information from children through ProjectVault.
International use
Because ProjectVault processes archive content locally, DevHexLab does not intentionally transfer imported archive content between countries. External links selected by a user may be operated by third-party services in other jurisdictions.
Policy changes
Material changes to this policy will be published on this page with an updated effective date. If a future release introduces analytics, cloud storage, account connections, or additional browser permissions, this policy and the browser-store disclosures must be updated before release.
